About the artist: Guy began his career by drawing wildlife from his native Jamaica while attending boarding school in England. He graduated from the University of West Indies with a Ph.D. in marine biology. He later began teaching as a full-time Professor at UWI. He debuted his artwork at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show and sold his entire collection. Guy soon resigns his position as a Professor to start painting full-time.
Today, Guy Harvey continues to travel the world in search of his next inspiration. He is also a very vocal and active advocate for marine conservation, having established the Guy Harvey Research Institute (GHRI) at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as well as the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, an organization that funds scientific research and educational initiatives.
