Smoking and the game of golf have shared a long history together. Whether used to alleviate the pressure of the game or simply as a way to pas the time, it was commonplace for many of golf’s legends to smoke during play. Arnold Palmer was not only smoked on the course, but also won the 1982 Marlboro Classic.

Today however the PGA’s stance on smoking reflects that of society’s as a whole—and even Palmer has spoken out regarding the harmfulness of the habit.
