Alexandra Rose Bruin

The inspiration for this paddle came from an attraction to colourful Indigenous art of plants and animals.  Where a black line would typically outline shapes, Alexandra decided to use bold spring and summer colours aone.  She selected the palette without hesitation and employed rapid organic brush movements to completely cover the wood with a vision of cheerful colour blocks.  "I'm left with joy, optimism, an extraordinary power of influence, the impression of magic, perhaps also the vision of a beautiful otherworldly place that this paddle may take us.  I see a map with islands, warm blue water, brilliant fragrant flowers and sweet fruit to discover and enjoy."
