Dzi mala beads
Mala beads are a mantra meditation tool, bringing calmness to the mind and aiding the practitioner to access deeper layers of themselves. They consist of 108 small beads with a mantra being recited once for each bead and a bigger ‘guru’ bead, which is larger than the rest and used as a marker for counting rounds.
The Tibetan word Dzi (pronounced Zee) translates to ‘shine, brightness, clearness, splendour’ and the beads are made from agate. These beads are precious in Tibetan culture and highly sought after. Dzi mala beads are believed to be protective and bring the wearer good fortune.
