Bell and dorje
The bell (dribu in Tibetan) and Dorje are common ritual items used by Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.
The bell symbolises emptiness, wisdom and the female aspect. The shape and sound of the bell signify emptiness or the true nature of all things. Buddhists believe that when one understands the true nature of all things, you become free of attachment and are ultimately free from suffering. It is held in the left hand.
The Dorje symbolises method, compassion and the male aspect. It is held in the right hand.
Signifying wisdom and compassion, the bell and Dorje are used together.
