Derge Mo La
An 8 x 10 inch Photograph—Tibet, Kham: The ancient kingdom of Derge is located in the Kham region of Eastern Tibet. The women from Derge are known for their ornate turquoise and brass jewelry. Derge is home to many of the great Buddhist monasteries in the Nyingma, Kagyu, and Sakya traditions, such as Palpung, Gongchen, Kathok, Palyul, Shechen, Dzogchen, and Karma Kagyu Monasteries.
Don Perrault’s photographs in this auction were created while he was traveling in Nepal and Tibet between 2002-2004. His photographs are used to raise awareness for the people, culture, and landscapes in the region, and for financial support for non-profit initiatives across the globe. Don is honored to connect the people, culture, and landscapes of the Himalaya to the members of Natural Dharma Fellowship community to support Wonderwell.
