JANE GOODALL

Talking to Chimp Framed Photo. 17X16

In the 1960s, Jane Goodall ventured into the forests of what is now Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania to study chimpanzees in the wild. While she was there, she studied the chimpanzee behavior that challenged theories held at the time; she discovered chimpanzees are omnivores, chimpanzees make and use tools, and chimpanzees have social interactions. Jane’s work opened doors for other women in science.
