Naming Rights to a 3-acre Estuarine Pond
Naming Rights to a 3-acre estuarine pond at the Coastal Heritage Preserve along our marsh trail. This estuarine pond offers up close and personal contact with our saltwater marshes and wildlife. Surrounded by smooth cordgrass (spartina alterniflora) our younger students don’t have to walk far to explore the marsh with dip nets and seines, take water quality samples, and bird watch. This pond is famous for seeing shy marsh birds (rails and wrens), abundant and singing meadowlarks, and lots of birds of prey. During hands-on sampling events students get an up-close and personal look at crabs, shrimps, and fish. You can view the pond at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD7C-j5rCPI
You will receive the
- name in perpetuity with three signs along the trail,
- your name choice on trail maps,
- recognition on our social media platforms celebrating the naming of the trails, and
- a private special event for up to ten people to see the signs unveiled.
