Alison–Mayne House Tour in Cheviot Hills, California

A one hour visit to the recently completed home of Alison-Mayne in Los Angeles' Cheviot Hills neighborhood. The result of an extensive design and research process the design makes the most of its corner site using excation, elevation and structural sleight of hand to create the experience of internal privacy on a decidedly "public" and visible site. The home is clad in the same custom perforated, weathering bronze panels as the Bloomberg Center at the Cornell Technology Campus on Rooselvelt Island in New York. Of particular note is the careful positioning of the swimming pool beneath the living room to bounce rippled light up onto the interior ceiling during the day. It is a remarkable home.
