Phillip Johnson's Glass House - New Canaan, CT
This very rare, cast metal and acrylic miniature of Philip Johnson’s 1949 home, is the centerpiece of his estate in New Haven, was offered at a SBSC meeting in 2010, and is of a piece with the next auction item also from his estate - a scuptural library housing his immense collection of books and folios on art and architecture.
The roof of this incredibly detailed model is removable to show the interior floor plan (including furniture!). WOW - would make an incredible keepsake/companion piece to the VIP Tour item listed separately in this auction!
