two and WOOD TECH have teamed up together to give two antique dining chairs a second life. The two chairs were acquired from a Craigslist ad in Nob Hill, where the then owner shared that the chairs had been in the house for over 80 years. How could we break up the bonded pair?! The two team played around chairs to see how the chairs could be joined together and what they could become. We sat the chairs side by side, stacked them, pulled pieces apart and placed them elsewhere. Throughout the process, our designer worked to sketch up the ideas as we brainstormed. With the idea of what our chairs would become, we each took home the pieces and sanded them down to the beautiful natural wood and thought about how we would bring our vision to life. This is when we realized we needed the experts to step in! We asked if WOOD TECH would join our team to help transform the chairs into a bar cart. They took the box of pieces, sketch, and ideas and brought the bar cart to life. twoody shows how a transformation doesn’t mean doing away with the old. We honored the shape of each piece of the chairs with only slight modifications to help it become a sturdy and functional bar cart. No aspect of the original chair is completely done away with but instead, we have used its features, both as originally intended and as well as with new purpose. The bonded pair of chairs are now made one and ready for some fun! Roll it out for your next cocktail party and share the tale of these long-time friends. Cheers!
