My abstract work is always about the beauty of process and tedium. It is about the essential, imperfect, work of human hands.

The labor of undocumented workers is a vital part of the U.S. economy which many native-born Americans are happy to exploit while simultaneously either ignoring or deriding the human beings who provide it.

In my opinion, "the wall" is little more than symbology, even if it's ever realized. "The wall" would primarily serve to flaunt American prejudice, fear, and utter lack of self-awareness. "The wall" is something for cowards to hide behind in lieu of actually addressing any of the nation's true struggles.

That said, I am optimistic, if only because there is such a thing as the truth.
