This project speaks to me because in our current nationalist environment everyone is being asked to choose who we are and what we wish for the future. Do we want a country that only allows for one America; a homogeneous and xenophobic nation or do we desire a country that welcomes everyone's differences and embraces those differences. This project asks the viewer to determine on what side of the wall they will be on and what that wall will or will not be. By showing the viewer a wall made of hope and inclusion maybe just maybe we can convince the viewer that a wall is not the answer and that walls keep out as well as keep in.
