Walls are not merely physical dividers. As an immigrant who came to the United States for political asylum,"Build Hope, Not Walls" speaks to me because I understand the plight of refugees and the struggle to adjust to a new culture that often greets you with fear and apprehension. Building hope, to me, is about people transcending fear by using empathy to connect to the humanity in those who have had their basic humanity challenged.
