Generously donated by JetBlue Airway, the 2 Travel Certificates are valid for travel in Economy Class, and must be utilized by May 6, 2018.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Each Travel Certificate is good for one-time use by one person in accordance with the travel restrictions identified on or in connection with the Certificate. All travel must be booked and flown within the specified validity dates. In the event that a Travel Certificate does not include dates of validity, the Certificate shall be good for travel booked and flown within one (1) year of the date of issuance. If specific flights or departures/destinations are not identified on or in connection with the Travel Certificate, the Certificate may only be redeemed for one-way JetBlue flights to/from JetBlue cities. (Not all JetBlue cities connect; call 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2538) for information on connecting cities.)

Redeemed travel is subject to availability, blackout dates, and capacity controls (flights to/from Caribbean destinations subject to heightened capacity controls), and seats may not be available on all flights.

Flight schedules are subject to change without notice. Certificate is not valid for bookings on partner or code share or interline flights or for use in connection with any other products or services, except that Certificate may be applied towards the air portion of a JetBlue Getaways vacation package.

Certificate is transferable; however, at no time may it be purchased, sold, bartered, traded on an auction website or otherwise exchanged for value without prior written consent from JetBlue.

Certificate cannot be partially redeemed, is not redeemable for cash, and has no cash value. Passengers are subject and entitled to all provisions of JetBlue's Contract of Carriage. Government taxes and fees apply to travel booked using a Certificate, are the responsibility of the passenger, and will vary based on route.

Taxes and fees may include, without limitation, Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 each way; September 11 Security Fees of up to $11.20 each way; Federal Segment Taxes of $4.00 per domestic segment; U.S. Arrival/Departure Tax of $17.20 each way for Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands travel; U.S. government excise tax of $8.40 per departure for Alaska and Hawaii travel; government fees and taxes up to $120.80 each way for international travel; and a Value Added Tax of up to $212.28 each way for Barbados, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica travel. Government taxes/fees are subject to change as required by law.

Passenger also is solely responsible for fees for oversized, overweight or extra baggage and fees for products/services sold separately, such as Even More Space seats, pet fees, in-flight movies, etc. Passenger must pay all applicable taxes and fees using a major credit card at the time of booking.

A Travel Certificate may be redeemed only by calling 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) and providing the authorization number and PIN number included on the Certificate. Travel Certificates may not be redeemed at airport ticket counters or online. Additional terms and restrictions apply.

AUCTION TERMS
Books4Kids Jamaica is conducting its 5th annual fundraiser auction online. We welcome bids and donations towards the Books4Kids Jamaica book distribution in September 2016. Every physical item in the auction that can be shipped may incur a shipping cost, which is the responsibility of the bidder. If you are the successful bidder of an item that needs to be shipped, we will contact you to make arrangements for shipment.

 Auction Terms and Conditions

-      All bidders must be 18 years of age or above.

-      A bid is construed as a legal agreement to purchase the listed item(s) at the amount indicated.

-      Details, validity and restrictions have been indicated in the descriptions of each item.

-      Gift certificates and vouchers are not displayed, but will be provided at the time of payment.

-      Reservations for trips, stays in hotels, use of facilities, ticket redemption or other such items must be mutually arranged by the winning bidder and the donor. Blackout periods, expiration dates and restrictions may apply to hotel stays, cruises and flights. Please note that each of the items up for auction is subject to certain terms and conditions, including availability, black-out dates and other restrictions. 

-      Restrictions and expiration dates may apply on several auction items. The utmost care has been taken to note restrictions as accurately as possible; however, Books4Kids Jamaica is not responsible for any restrictions omitted or not otherwise indicated by the donor, or prizes not claimed within the scope of restrictions or expiration dates.

-      Please read the conditions of purchase for the auction items you are interested in prior to placing your bids.

 

Auction Closing Times

To allow participation from Europe, bidding on items marked “European Time Zone Finish” will finish at 5:00 PM Jamaican Time (CDT), which is 10:00 PM GMT. The bidding on all other items finishes at 11:00 PM Jamaican Time (CDT).

NOTE: To give all bidders an equal chance of winning an auction item, we have implemented the “Popcorn Bidding” function. If any bid is placed on an item within 10 minutes of the close of the auction, the bid closing time on that particular auction item will be extended for 10 minutes. This gives all interested bidders an equal chance to win.

 

Bidder Account

-      Click on the [Sign Up] link near the top of the page.  Complete the form then click the [Create Account] button.

-      Make sure you use a phone number where you can be reached during the auction.  You can elect to receive an Email or a Text Message if you are outbid on an item.  If you select YES for this option standard text messaging, data, and/or other charges may apply.

Popcorn bidding
To give all bidders an equal chance of winning an auction item and discourage sniping (placing a bid right as the auction closes), we have implemented the “Popcorn Bidding” function.

If any bid is placed on an item within 10 minutes of the close of the auction, the bid close time on that particular auction item will be extended for 10 minutes. This gives all interested bidders an equal chance to win.

Successful bids
If you are the successful bidder on an item you will receive an email or text indicating that you were the successful bidder. An invoice will be sent to you within 1 hour of the close of the auction. If you receive an ITEM WON NOTIFICATION you will be sent an invoice. 

Invoice
A link will be included in the email notification that you receive.  You can also see the invoice by logging in to your account and clicking on Members Home and then on the Messages icon. If we do not receive payment or you do not contact us to arrange payment within 48 hours, your items we will go to the next bidder.

Payment
Payment MUST BE MADE WITHIN FOURTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS of your receiving an invoice. If you DO NOT PAY WITHIN FOURTY EIGHT HOURS, the auction items you had the winning bids on will be offered to the bidder with the next winning bid.

Cash/ Credit Card
If you are attending the Saturday May 10 auction party in Kingston, Jamaica, you may come to the Books4Kids Jamaica representative and make payment via Credit Card or cash.

PayPal
If you have a PayPal account, you can pay for your item(s) via PayPal. 

Credit Card via Stripe
You can use your Credit Card to pay via Stripe on the auction website.

Picking up your Items
If you live in Montego Bay, Jamaica, please pick up your item from our office at Half Moon Shops 15 as quickly as possible. 

If you are staying at a local hotel, we will be happy to bring the items to you. If you live abroad, gift vouchers for hotel stays, cruises will be sent to you by email and post. Once payment has been made, Gift Certificates will be sent to you in a prompt fashion by Books4Kids Jamaica’s representatives. Books4Kids Jamaica will aim to send out all Gift Certificates within two weeks of the completion of the auction on May 10th, 2016.

Certain items (cruises) requires Books4Kids Jamaica to notify the relevant company of the winner’s name prior to the release of the final certificate. This will be done in a prompt fashion by Books4Kids Jamaica’s representatives, and the Gift Certificate will be provided thereafter.
