This item was gifted to Beyond Rhetoric for this auction. It has never been used, still in the box. Every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., Beyond Rhetoric provides Chess Programming at the Alfred D. Noyes Childrens Center, an all girls detention facility in Montgomery County, Maryland. In April, there was a fire at the facility, displacing the girls. They were sent to the Cheltenham Youth Detention Center in Prince George's County.  We could not stop programming, so we travel from the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center (where we offer Chess Programming from 8:30-10:00 a.m. every Sunday) to Cheltenham, a 46-mile, one hour trip. Then, we return to Howard County, Maryland (a total of 90 miles to reach the girls). Buying this item would pay for the gas for one of those trips.
