An Exclusive Modernism Week Experience – Stay Overnight at Frank Sinatra’s Villa Maggio, His Private Mountain Retreat in Pinyon Crest High Above Palm Desert, CA.

Overnight stay @ Villa Maggio for four (4) guests.  This true once-in-a-lifetime experience will include a one (1) night stay @ Villa Maggio’s guesthouse which includes 2 bedrooms for a total of 4 people.  Each room has its own private entrance & bathroom.  A guided tour of the main residence is included. Guests will arrive on a Friday. 

Villa Maggio, was one of Frank Sinatra’s favorite personal residences, affectionately named for the character that earned him an Oscar in “From Here to Eternity” and mentioned numerous times in Barbara Sinatra’s book “Lady Blue Eyes, My Life with Frank”, this secluded mountain retreat perched high above Palm Desert is a masterpiece with a rustic, Midcentury-Lodge style design on 7.5 acres of land that encompasses a 5 BR main house, a self-sufficient 3 BR guest house, a 1 BR pool house, a resort-style pool, a large exterior entertaining area w/firepit, a lighted tennis court, a helipad & parking for 24 cars. The surrounding 360-degree sunrise -sunset mountain-valley lights views provide a timeless, surreal backdrop. The 6,428 SF interiors have been lovingly preserved and reflects Frank’s style & preferences, with few changes to the original interior/exterior of the main, guest & pool house. 

Sinatra had a dual purpose in the design of the estate: a desire to escape the oppressive heat of the desert valley below and a need to provide his friends, which included traveling dignitaries, sports stars, elite power players and members of the Rat Pack, with the ultimate in luxury and comfort as well as the utmost in privacy and security.

Mr. Sinatra worked hand in hand with builder Duke Wild & designer Ross Patten who used locally sourced materials, including natural stone and hardwoods, the residence adds beauty to the surrounding environment. Wide overhanging eaves provide shade and reduce the ecological footprint. Hardwood floors, numerous fireplaces, and vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams give the estate an understated and relaxing, down-to-earth atmosphere.

Things to Know: Check-in is at noon, main home tour will take place after guests are settled in, then guests are free to use the swimming pool, tennis court or can just relax and experience the quiet serenity and privacy that Frank Sinatra so enjoyed.  Check-out is at 11am the next day, Saturday.  This experience does have black-out dates for all holidays and stay must take place by the end of August 2023.  Preferential months to consider are March through end of August.
