Bio: Hector Garcia, Iconic Artist, (1933 - 2024) created sculptures for public spaces in Fort Wayne and the region for well over fifty years. The Professor Emeritus from Indiana University Purdue University, where he taught sculpture and drawing for thirty-one years, also gained prominence nationally and internationally for his medallic work. From designing the Bicentennial medals for Fort Wayne, and the State of Indiana, to his Freedom Flame medal, which was selected for The Smithsonian’s Cabinet of Medals permanent collection. “Corpus Christi II” is second, in a series of non-traditional Crucifix works.
