Books include: Forget Sorrow: An Ancestral Tale, Belle Yang's stunning debut as a graphic memoirist with this story of crisis and survival. When Belle Yang was forced to take refuge in her parents’ home after an abusive boyfriend began stalking her, her father entertained her with stories of old China.

Baba: A Return to China upon My Father's Shoulders, which tells the story of the daughter of a man who grew up in wartime Manchuria. The art, both glorious color prints and inviting b&w drawings, add a sometimes whimsical, sometimes deeply symbolic visual layer to the lovely and textured stories Yang tells about her father's childhood and youth in Manchurian China.

The Odyssey of the Manchurian recounts Yang's father's dramatic flight from his native village in Manchuria during China's civil war, fighting his way amid a wave of suspicion, paranoia, and greed that arose with the imminent Communist takeover.
