Shimmer was created from a sunset picture taken in Hawaii with the sun shimmering on the ripples of the ocean.  Preferring a more abstract version of the sunset, I cut the picture into little squares and arranged them in a design where the shimmer would move your eye through the painting. 

In Arizona, water is precious and needs to be treated as such.  I was happy to contribute to this auction because it is driving awareness of the importance of education and conservation of this finite resource.
