Ontario

Blown Glass

10.5" x 6" x 10.5"

Lake Ontario lies nearly 100 meters lower than the rest, separated and fed by Niagara Falls, among other bodies of water.  The vessel representing the lake has been made much shorter than the other three, however, it is much deeper than its neighbor Lake Erie.

This series of vessels is a representation of the Great Lakes.  By using a dark blue and unmelted white glass powder on the surface, these pieces reflect both the calm depths of the lakes and the unending drama of the surface and shores, a combination that has never failed to be inspiring.  Individually they are beautiful pieces, but like the Great Lakes, they are strongest together.  Each lake, and each sculpture, has their own characteristics that make them unique from the rest.
