Charles Asbury, perhaps better known locally as "Geez" and for his painted rocks, is also a talented painter.

His style is unmistakable and his pictures convey his joie de vivre and sense of place. Originally from West Virginia, then Houston, Texas, Charles migrated and rooted himself in Boothbay, where he began to indulge in both collecting and making art.

This acrylic painting is 21 inches wide by 17" deep and depicts a pastoral scene with a fascinating red sky and clouds and a winding road through a Maine countryside punctuated with cottages and flowers.
