A Southern California native, Kayla Bailey grew up loving Disney movies and Broadway musicals.

Since her first performance of “Colors of the Wind” in her elementary school’s annual talent show, Kayla has fallen in love with the art of performance. Following her graduation from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, CA, Kayla studied music performance for three semesters at Jacobs School of Music in Indiana University. Upon experiencing the harsh Midwest winter, Kayla transferred to California Lutheran University, where she earned her B.A. in Music, with a Minor in Theatre Arts. While studying music at Cal Lutheran, Kayla had the honor of performing as a soloist with the University Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York. From there, it was off to Matador country to earn her M.M. in Vocal Arts from California State University Northridge. While enrolled at CSUN, Kayla kept busy, studying and performing opera for six weeks in Austria with the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) and serving her home community as Miss Ventura County 2012. She went on to the prestigious Miss California Pageant, where she earned the Leni Arnhym Classical Performer Award. Months after graduation, Kayla set sail with Silversea Cruises, performing for thousands of guests on the Mediterranean Sea.

Upon her return to California, Kayla earned high praise and awards for all three of her performances with Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi: the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Morticia Addams in The Addams Family, and Billy’s Mother in Billy Elliot. She currently sings with the Overstreets New Orleans Jazz Band (ONOJB), serves as a Music/Vocal Director for various high school productions, and teaches vocal lessons out of her studio in Thousand Oaks.
