ORANGE JULEP

L’Orange Julep--Ce monument kitsch en forme de dôme orange tant aimé des Montréalais, a été capturé par l’artiste montréalais Andy Habib dans une peinture abstraite unique qui sera vendue aux enchères afin de réunir des fonds pour l’organisation Jeunesse au Soleil, qui en a grandement besoin en ces temps difficiles de pandémie de COVID-19.

« Dans les années 50, les deux endroits où j’aimais le plus passer mon temps étaient les locaux du journal Clark Street Sun, qui allaient devenir Jeunesse au Soleil, et le Orange Julep, qui est toujours un lieu iconique de notre métropole. Pour plusieurs générations, ces deux endroits sont associés à d’excellents souvenirs! » nous dit Sid Stevens, vice-président exécutif et co-fondateur de Jeunesse au Soleil.

ORANGE JULEP--Montreal’s Iconic Orange Julep, exclusive painting, to Raise Money and awareness for Sun Youth Organization. Artist Andy Habib captures the spirit of the famous landmark in an acrylic-on-canvas painting.

Shaped like an orange dome, Montreal’s much-beloved, kitschy landmark, the ORANGE JULEP has been captured by Montreal artist, Andy Habib, in a unique abstract painting, to be auctioned to raise much needed funds for  the SUN YOUTH Organization, during these challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 “I created this painting to salute the strength of Montreal’s frontline health care and essential providers (of which Sun Youth is part of), during this pandemic and as a tribute to all Montrealers living through difficult times. It’s a familiar site and a source of visual comfort,” says artist Andy Habib.
