PlayMakers Repertory Company is the professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. What is a resident theatre company? We’re glad you asked. It means we have a permanent company of actors who take part in all or most of our shows over the course of the year.

We are a professional theatre company, but we are proud of our close relationship with the University’s College of Arts and Sciences. The six professional actors in our resident company work closely with the Professional Actor Training Program at the Department of Dramatic Arts to prepare graduate students with the skills necessary to pursue a career in the theatre. Each year, new graduate students become a part of our acting company for the duration of their education, bringing the total number of resident company members to nineteen.
