Women of the Harvest

An 8 x 10 Photograph—Tibet, Kandze, Kham: Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to see and participate in the barley harvest in Kham. Across the countryside, there are many large families that have picnics to take a short breaks from the busy harvest throughout the day. The families drink yak butter tea, and eat tsampa (roasted barely flour rolled in a ball), and bread with dried chilies. This family is joyously singing traditional songs while bailing chaffs of barley.
