Journey Through the Portals of Mist
An 8 x 10 inch Photograph—Nepal, Langtang Valley: The beyul (hidden) portals of Langtang Valley were once the gateways to the ancient trade routes between Nepal and Tibet. Caravans of yak from Tibet would transport salt, gold dust, wool, musk pods, and pelts to Nepal in exchange for rice, cotton, paper, Buddhist statues and artwork. The earthquake, avalanche, and landslides in April 2015 destroyed all of the homes in the valley; only half of the people survived.
Don Perrault’s photographs in this auction were created while he was traveling in Nepal and Tibet between 2002-2004. His photographs are used to raise awareness for the people, culture, and landscapes in the region, and for financial support for non-profit initiatives across the globe. Don is honored to connect the people, culture, and landscapes of the Himalaya to the members of Natural Dharma Fellowship community to support Wonderwell. More information about his work can be found at: www.dphoton.org.
