This beautiful vintage thanka depicts Shakyamuni Buddha, surrounded by attendants. The Buddha holds a begging bowl, a symbol of his ethical discipline. His hands are resting in meditative equipoise, the symbol of his mastery of meditation practice. This thanka is pre-framed with silk brocade, and would look great in a conventional wood and glass frame.
