Bricks and Mortar ~ Breathtaking 11 x 14 Photo!
This absolutely breathtaking photo of 2019 Arlington Million Champion and leading contender for 2019 Horse of the Year, Bricks and Mortar, was taken by brilliant equine photographer, Tom Ferry, the day before the Arlington Million following a pre-race workout at Arlington Park. This photo quickly became the talk of the internet...just stunning!
Tom Ferry has been a longstanding supporter of the ILEHC. In fact, Tom graciously donated his brillinat photography talents to capture photos of the very first horses to arrive at the ILEHC in 2008! We thank Tom for his years of support and for his generous donation of this beautiful photo of American Pharoah.
About Tom Ferry:
Tom Ferry has traveled throughout the U.S., following a lifelong passion for photography. While his camera captures people, landscapes, nature and celebrations of life, it is his love of Thoroughbreds and the world of horse racing that commands the majority of his time and devotion.
Tom was one of three finalists for the 2017 Sovereign Award in the category of Writing for "Where Champions Dance," a feature he wrote about Canada's Sam-Son Farm for International Racehorse Magazine.
His writing and photography have been seen in the pages and websites of Thoroughbred Times, The Blood-Horse, Horse Racing Nation, International Racehorse, America's Best Racing, Saratoga Living, US Racing, New York Breeder, Midwest Thoroughbred, Illinois Racing News, The Horse Resource and the 2010 book, They Call the Horses. His photos have also been exhibited at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois and a graduate of Western Illinois University, Tom has built a successful career in the Chicago advertising industry for more than 25 years. But while advertising pays the bills, photography and writing feed his soul.
