The birthday canvas represents a year-long celebration of birthdays in the Blue Door Room. Each color on the canvas represents a Blue Door Room birthday and was chosen and then created from acrylic paint by the birthday child. The paint was applied to the canvas using the splattering technique of Jackson Pollack. The children chose from a toothbrush, a honey stick, a paint brush, and a tongue depressor to create the textures displayed on the canvas.
