Dream Interpretation

Bid on an hour with me, tell me your dream, and I will help you to learn how to interpret the experience you had when the rules were “turned off” and your unconscious had complete freedom to go wherever it wanted.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both private and public practice and I have been providing counseling and psychotherapy since 1998. The interpretation of dream material is one of the tools I have used to help people to make sense of how the events of their conscious, every-day lives are tied to their less understood, inner lives – or what we clinicians call the “Unconscious."

Dream interpretation is the process of assigning meaning to dreams – and virtually everyone, at one time or another, takes a stab at interpreting one of their own dreams, or somebody else’s. But how do you know if you have a “correct” interpretation?

In many societies, such as those of ancient Egypt and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention, whose message could be unraveled by people with certain powers.

In modern times, various schools of psychology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychology and neurobiology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurobiology have offered theories about the meaning and purpose of dreams. Today, most people in the United States appear to interpret dream content according to the Sigmund Freud’s theories about dreams.

Whatever you believe, most people agree that interpreting a particularly interesting or perplexing dream is sometimes fun, sometimes disturbing – but is nearly always fascinating!
