Chris Toovey in addition to being a multi-medium artist for many years who has shown his work at multiple venues including the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, also co-founded dA Gallery in 1984 and became the President of the Board of directors upon dA's incorporation as a 501c3 non-profit art center in 1989. dA Gallery became dA Center for the arts in 1996. I continue to head up a 10 member volunteer board of directors at monthly board meetings. My position is a non payed position as CEO. My other responsibilities are as volunteer Chair of the Gallery and Facilities Management Committee and I volunteer as the dA's exhibit installer. I assist the dA's one part time payed employee, our Executive Director, in grant writing, fund raising, PR, and general operations.  Chris has served on the Claremont City Art Committee and is currently working to bring a public art mural to fruition at El Barrio Park in Claremont.
