SOM’s faceted and vaguely geological 1969 tower is still visible as the 4th tallest tower San on the Francisco skyline despite having been overshadowed by newer, taller towers in the intervening decades. The building’s prismatic skin is captured in this limited edition model custom made for the Small Building Collectors Society (SBCS) meeting in San Francisco - (see some of the other “registration gifts” elsewhere in this auction for more). These were frequently made to the same scale so members could line them all up in their own “home skyline” and spanned over several representational types over the decades. This recent example is cast metal (aluminum?)  and painted metal with incised details.
