Hand Carved Mallard Feather Pin

Hand carved brooch by Ward Herrmann, local artist, author and photographer (1935-2009). The pin is signed on back by the artist who is known for his beautifully carved and painted duck decoys, as wekk as his paintings. This pin is hand carved from basswood. It is hand painted in dazzling realistic color, shimmering with green/blue iridescence as if it was still on the mallard's tail. The "feather" has a flowing shape and is finely carved.
