Aimee Ollinger
A note from the artist:
“When painting this little library the first thing I thought was what would gravitate me towards this educational object if I were a kid? Bold colors and interesting abstracted shapes of course. The next step was how can I do that while staying true to my usual theme and style? Well in this piece I wanted to express a combination of nature and science through the eyes of a child. I wanted to make it fun, bright, and unique. I believe that understanding the art of nature and science in a large part can be best learned through books. This little library can go indoors or outdoors. It was a true honor being apart of this wonderful project.”
Artist bio:
Aimee Ollinger was born and raised in Arizona and is currently living in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated with her BFA in Drawing from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts in 2017. Aimee’s fascination for nature and science is what sparks her inspiration. Her obsession with these two topics drives her to sink the focus and energy of these subjects into her work. Much of her research has been invested in finding ways to harmonize these ideas by interpreting their abstract essence. Her creative process is similar to that of a lab with frequent trial and error, continually dissecting and reevaluating her work. Aimee believes that art is a never-ending journey. She doesn’t like to settle with what she knows, she always strives to expand her knowledge when creating new works.
