Bio: Hannah Burnworth is the artist behind Milk House Studio and founder of Milk House Gallery in North Manchester, IN. Burnworth has degrees in both art education and studio art. She has been teaching art in Indiana public schools and through private workshops for the last 20 years. In addition to teaching, Burnworth loves to create all things paper. Her collage and paper pieces celebrate creativity and design, bringing together a love for texture, color, nature, and experiences in motherhood.
"Mother Nature's Eye" is a mixed media piece composed of found and handmade papers, layered and stitched with a sewing machine, then adhered to a round canvas. Threads and stitching give a nod to women's work. The radial design offers a format to show the continual flight and movement present in motherhood, and the red-winged blackbird is a first sign of spring, a symbol of hope, and a glimpse into my appreciation of nature.
