Coastal Heritage Preserve 5.5 Acre Pond

Naming Right to a 5.5 acre freshwater pond at the Coastal Heritage Preserve home of otters and gators!

Be a Big Fish in this Big Pond. This very large 5.5 acre pond is viewed along our 4,325 long prairie trail off of Stewart Road (also up for naming rights). This pond is located in a very big upland area between Stewart and 3005 famous for being the gateway to the West End.

This pond is one of the largest freshwater ponds on Galveston hosting aligators, river otters, denning coyotes and more! In the winter huge rafts of migrating ducks live in peace and quite. These ducks include rudy ducks, canvas backs, greenwinged teal and more. Freshwater is rare on a barrier island. Protecting this pond protects lives of tiny wildlife (such as marsh wrens and swamp sparrows) and big wildlife.

Details: Name this 5.5 acre freshwater pond at the Coastal Heritage Preserve and you will receive the following: name in perpetuity with four signs around the pond, your name choice on trail maps, recognition on our social media platforms celebrating the naming of the trails, and a private special event for up to ten people to see the signs unveiled.
