A NATURALIST'S GUIDE TO THE ISLAND
This 1/2 trip is for beginning or early intermediate birders who would like to learn more about birds and birding on the East End of Galveston Island. Your trip leaders, Alice Anne O'Donell and Anna Deichmann, will introduce you to seasonal and migrant birds as you explore the East Beach area, including the East End Lagoon Nature Preserve and surrounding marshes, East End sand flats, the channel side beach area down to the jetty, and Corp Woods.
About your leaders:
Alice Anne O'Donell, MD, longtime Galveston resident and birder, has been one of GINTC's FeatherFest birding leaders for 20+ years. Her passions are Upper Texas Coast shorebirds and coastal habitat management.
GINTC Board Member Anna Deichmann is the Gulf Coast Program Director for American Bird Conservancy. She has worked on the upper Texas Coast for over 10 years helping to protect habitat and connecting people with nature.
