Woodland Songbird
Celebrate your love of trees with a special handmade bowl, crafted from a fallen black walnut tree by Forest Preserve District volunteer Mike Kalscheur.
During migratory seasons, the Swainson's thrush and other songbirds will stop to forage on insects and berries found on the ground or in trees at DuPage forest preserves' woodlands. The notebook and greeting cards, featuring the beautiful Swainson's thrush, were made by DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center volunteer Krissy Schwartz. She and other volunteers help staff treat nearly 10,000 injured and orphaned wild animals each year at the center.
