Emma has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years. Origonally from the UK, she now lives in Queensland with her family. In her work she aims to encourage am emotional response in the viewer using abstract impressionistic shape and colour.
Emma is a very organic artist and lets the painting find its own way intuitively. There are somethings in Emma's work that are recogniseable but never truly realistic this ambiguity is something she finds fascinating. Emma uses layer upon layer of assorted media and gold leaf to create atmospheric scenes full of fairytale like images.
In this work Emma is portraying the stylised abstraction of sun and sky on water and man made structures of a cityscape which are barely discernable as they are broken down into impressionistic shape and colour.
