A website is a great place to show who you are, what you do, and what you’ve done.

But if you want to successfully demonstrate your unique expertise and skills, expand your research, career, or business opportunities, AND be recognized for your accomplishments, then you’ll want to commit to advocating for yourself by sharing your work (whether it’s in science or beyond) more openly.

For example, when I started my website design business, I didn’t have a degree in graphic design – it was chemistry! I worked at a chemical company by day and moonlighted as a web designer by night.

Despite that, I built my reputation on Twitter (RIP) and Instagram by sharing my skills, experience, and expertise. Over time, people started remembering me, and I received many (paid) opportunities to speak, teach, and write about websites and expanded my professional network at the same time.

Now I want to help more scientists, science communicators, and academic entrepreneurs, who are combining their creativity and expertise to become leaders in their fields, create websites that reflect all the awesome things they are doing within and beyond STEM.
