b.1989 Dayton, OH lives and works in Portland, OR.

mononymously named, maximiliano, is an afro-chicanx experimental artist exploring the intersection of spirituality & technology through the lens of Black Nihilist Futurism. They received their Master of Fine Arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art. They recently attended residencies at Iris Project, in Venice, CA, Yucca Valley Material Lab, CA, Centrum, in Port Townsend, WA, and Alembic Residency at Performance Works Northwest, where they debuted ANDROIDS IN THE TOWER, a Regional Arts & Culture Council funded performance & multimedia production. They recently exhibited SENSITIVE CONTENT at Paragon Arts Gallery. They are a professor, mentor, and an Oregon Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellow. They are Co-Director at NAT TURNER PROJECT, with Melanie Stevens, a Black radical art endeavor which has been disrupting Pacific Northwest art since 2016 with exhibitions, celebrations, publications, a podcast series and mutual aid. maximiliano has exhibited, curated, and performed nationally & internationally; with recent works in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, and Bergen, Norway.
