Andy Skaff Original Painting
Own a unique one of a kind Tahoe Meadows painting.
Few places offer such varieties of landscape as the American West and few capture its rare beauty as does Andy Skaff in his vibrant, light-filled paintings. Today, Andy most often sets up his easel in the mountains and coastal regions of Northern California and in San Francisco, but in the early days of his career studied with celebrated plein air painter Kevin McPherson in the French countryside where the practice of painting in the “open air” became popular with the Impressionists in the 19th century.
Andy has been honored with solo shows in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe galleries. His work has been exhibited at the Napa Valley Museum, the Oil Painters of America Western Regional Exhibit in Santa Barbara, and the Yosemite Renaissance semiannual exhibit. His painting “Daybreak II” was recently chosen as “Best of Show” at the California Art Club’s City by the Bay exhibit in San Francisco in 2019. In addition, his painting “Room With a View” has been selected to be exhibited at San Francisco’s DeYoung Museum as part of the “deYoung Open”, an exhibit to celebrate the reopening of the museum on September 27, 2020.
Andy’s paintings were featured regularly for over a decade in installations at Gump’s San Francisco. The Ritz Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe, the Larkspur Hotel Group, Tahoe Forest Cancer Center and Martis Camp have purchased his work for their permanent collections. With a clear eye and bold strokes of the brush, Andy endows his remarkable paintings with all the vivid color, contrast and splendor of the Western landscape and its urban treasures.
