Stephanie Hirsch Fine Art
Badge of Honor -- 28 x 24*
Hirsch’s body of work titled Badge of Honor uses the female form and flora as a conduit to convey how at times, a journey into darkness is our greatest teacher. Hirsch gleans inspiration from the lushness and abundance of curves and ornamentation in Rococo art. She uses this as symbolism for the density, darkness, twists, and turns that one must often go through to find their truest. She creates with beads and uses them metaphorically as seeds. Hirsch states, “What you plant in the darkness blooms in the light.” She honors the journey with all its messiness, chaos, confusion, destruction with the ribbon. This badge of honor is for anyone who has done soul work, who has battled the darkness within, dug deep, and rose high! She awards you with this badge of honor.
