Etta Rosen - Out For a Walk, Duck Meets Eagle
Etta Rosen was first introduced to the creative process by her mother. After raising four children and a career in education and psychology she has focused her energies on mixed media and fiber art. Driven by a desire to master new skills and explore new mediums her work is at times whimsical, at times political, at times personal, but always demands attention from the viewer to realize details of materials and techniques.
Etta has built on her undergraduate studies in art with courses at museums, universities and art centers here and abroad. Her ongoing scholarship has included courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, welding, sculpture, mask making, mixed media and fiber (felting, crochet, knitting, embroidery). She has exhibited across the Northeast since 2015 and her work is held in multiple private collections. Etta enjoys participating in the Truro Historical Society art show every year.
Out for a walk, Duck meets Eagle
Etta has recently been working on a series of felted and found material sculptures of birds that are at risk of extinction. She only occasionally works in two dimensions but coming across images of these two very different “birds” she integrated them into a quirky encounter.
