Osteopathy appointment for Baby

Osteopathy was founded on the principle that your body’s natural state is one of health and wholeness. At Warrnambool Osteopathic Clinic, we focus on using treatment techniques that restore the body’s healing mechanisms and allow you to function at your best. We believe that treatment should be a calming experience that leaves you feeling looked after.Traumatic births in particular can lead to a baby needing osteopathy. The use of forceps, ventouse, pulling assistance, complications involving fetal distress, the umbilical cord or the placenta can all lead to patterns through the muscles and bones that make Baby uncomfortable, or lead to poor digestive transit. Sometimes the head shape, jaw or tongue tie can lead to difficulty latching and feeding, or to unsettled crying.

Sometimes Baby (and often Mum) can be in shock from labour, especially if they were delivered via C-section. Cranial Osteopathy is designed to rebalance the nervous system and bring calm and a sense of safety back to Baby.
