Owen Marsh is a very popular Jamaican painter from Fern Gulley, Ocho Rios, St. Ann who has been painting since 1965. Aside from his many Jamaica admirers, Marsh has sold paintings to art collectors to include Peter Finsch, Paul Newman and many other art lovers from the US, Canada and the UK.
Dimensions: This beautiful oil painting is 23 inches W by 31 inches L.
Marsh went to the Jamaica school of Art in 1966-67, studying drawing, painting and ceramics. Called “The Man of Many Moods”, he takes his inspiration from typical Jamaican sceneries and scenes, such as market and church settings. Marsh has won several medals and recognitions at the competition “National Festival of Fine Art” and says he style is inspired by Jamaican artists Barrington Watson, Albert Hewey and Ken Spencer.
Marsh’ oil on canvas paintings can be seen all over Half Moon hotel, Montego Bay and at Harmony Hall, Ocho Rios.
