Colorado Street Bridge from La Casita del Arroyo

This beautiful, framed pastel landscape of the Colorado Street Bridge from La Casita del Arroyo was painted “en plein air” on location in Pasadena by Erin Arnold the art teacher, at Holy Family Catholic School. The term is a French expression that means "in the open air." Monet, Van Gogh, Degas, and Winslow Homer are among the famous artists who used natural light and surroundings to capture the colors, textures, and mood of the scene. Erin Arnold can now be counted among them!

La Casita del Arroyo is a historic building located in Pasadena, California, United States. It was built in 1932 as a community gathering place for the La Casita Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Arroyo Seco Canyon area. The building was designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style by architect Myron Hunt and landscape architect Florence Yoch.
