There is a lot to love about the Palm Canyon Theatre.  

First, its location in a historic building, the Frances S. Stevens School in the heart of town. The school was built in 1927 by Prescott Stevens who funded it, donated the land and named it in memory of his wife and her interest in education. The plaque on the building notes that its auditorium served as the city’s first theatre.

Second, since 1997, when it was opened by the William Layne family as the Palm Canyon Theatre, a non-profit Broadway style playhouse, the award winning PCT has offered a wide range of stellar performances, an entertainment destination for the best musicals and plays in the valley. 

Third, PCT offers an annual summer children's theater camp in June and July for young artists 6-17 years old.  More than a dozen theatre professionals mentor kids in performing and stagecraft and includes instruction in acting, singing, dancing, makeup, set design, props, costuming and more, learning skills that will help them prepare for an audition or improve their self-esteem. 

Palm Canyon Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of live stage productions and the enrichment of the greater Palm Springs community and its visitors.  This is a great organization to support -- and in return, you'll be well entertained!
