Charles and Ray Eames lived a life immersed in the true magic of design — how design can change how we feel and interact with the world. We love everything Eames at Modernism Week!
First, a limited-edition offset press print released by the Eames Foundation in 2013. This print is 407/500, measures 18” x 12” and is one of 4 designs created to raise funds for restoring the Eames House, Case Study House #8. As can be expected, the quality of the paper and the print is the top notch.
The purchase price of each print was matched by Herman Miller and Vitra as additional funds donated. Very successful, the fundraising goal was met within 3 months of the release.
This iconic Eames asterisk design sold out fast. It can occasionally can be found on Ebay or similar for around $300. Donor purchased directly from the Eames Foundation in 2013 and this has been carefully stored in the original mailing tube it was delivered in.
Eames: Beautiful Details (AMMO Books, 2014) is a large (12” x 9” x 2” / 7 lbs) and striking coffee table book by Eames Demetrios with essays and quotes from the Eames family: Charles+Ray Eames, Lucia Eames, Carla Hartman, Byron Atwood, Lucia Dewey Atwood, Eames Demetrios, Llisa Demetrios. Edited by Gloria Fowler and Steve Crist. This book provides readers a thoughtful tour of their work spanning across dozens of fields including furniture, graphics, toys, architecture, and more.
